Connect Cardinal Desktop Application to Prometheus for monitoring and analyzing metrics.

Overview

Prometheus is an open-source monitoring and alerting system that collects and stores time-series metrics. With the Prometheus connector, your AI agents can:

  • Query Prometheus metrics using PromQL
  • Analyze time-series data with aggregations and functions
  • Monitor application performance and infrastructure health
  • Track metric trends over time
  • Identify anomalies and performance issues

Prometheus URLBase URL of your Prometheus server

Prerequisites

  • Prometheus server deployed and running
  • Base URL for your Prometheus server (e.g., http://localhost:9090)
  • Network access to the Prometheus server
  • Metrics data available in Prometheus

Setup Wizard

Step 1 - Connection Configuration

  1. In Cardinal Desktop Application, go to Connectors and click Browse Connectors
  2. Select Prometheus
  3. Enter a Display Name for this connection
    • Example: "Prometheus Prod", "Prometheus Dev", "Prometheus Staging"

Step 2 - Prometheus Configuration

  1. Enter your Prometheus URL
    • Example: http://localhost:9090
    • The base URL of your Prometheus server
    • Include the protocol (http or https)
    • Do not include a trailing slash

Step 3 - Connect

  1. Click Connect to verify connectivity to your Prometheus server
  2. Cardinal Desktop Application will test the connection to your Prometheus instance

Your AI agent can now query Prometheus metrics.
